This KOA is in such a beautiful and peaceful spot. Our cabin was right on the river with such peaceful views and sounds. We’ve been twice before and are already planning a trip for later in the year.

we felt like the most important camper at the campground. We had firewood delivered and they even thought to bring a lighter stick. we asked to change cabins because another was closer to the water. It was no problem at all, We felt so special and pampered during our stay. A very pleasant experience!

One of the best kept campgrounds we’ve ever stayed in. Friendly, hard-working staff are constantly doing something to make improvements & needed repairs immediately. This time, instead of our camper, we rented one of the cabins right on the river. What a treat it was, and the bed was so comfortable. We’ll be back again with our camper the next time as we have twice before. Can hardly wait~

This is our 2nd time staying here, we will definitely be back. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Love the cabins next to the creek, very peaceful. We enjoyed the fire pit and the dog run and the comfortable little cabin. Perfect for a weekend getaway.

I regret to leave a review such as this about any KOA, we have been loyal KOA campers since 2007, 15 years of pleasure and this is the first time we have been disappointed. We stayed in a cabin on property. The cabin is outdated, fluorescent light in the ceiling covered partially with plywood, several safety issues (railings), porch screen in disrepair, rodent balm on floor in closet in bedroom.

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

We apologize. It was a tough winter and we hadn't yet completed our regularly scheduled maintenance projects. All items have been repaired and issues resolved. We're happy to report success in our pest control methods and our local native creatures have taken up residence elsewhere along our river.

There is not a better campground. It is so well maintained and such a beautiful location. The running river makes the days and nights sound heavenly. We staying in our favorite cabin and as always it was clean, well stocked and just a comfortable cabin. Everyone should try KOA North Carolina at least once.

Froze to dead! Left early next morning. Sorry to cabin is not equipped for old weather. Beautiful place and management was very professional.������

Oh no! We are so sorry to hear it got that cold for you guys. You're right that the cabins do struggle keeping warm in colder weather, but we should have been able to accommodate you guys with extra heaters and blankets. This is something we will make sure doesn't happen again.

Enjoyed overall. However, WiFi is terrible(and that’s being kind-lol). Cable service reminded me of why Directv is SO much better. Disappointed in the lack of central heat, but 4 electric heaters kept us warm.

We'd like to apologize about the internet & cable issues. We have already started the process of troubleshooting that cabin to see how it can be remedied. Our number one goal is to ensure our guests have everything they need, and your feedback will be used to make those improvements.

We stayed in a cabin right along the creek front. The sound of rushing waters while sitting by the fireplace or on the screened in porch was wonderful. Their entire staff was friendly and helpful.

We cant say enough good things about the Murphy koa, from the owners and staff who are absolutely awesome. The location cant be beat, thats why we keep going back every chance we get. Once or twice a year at least.

Our stay was in a cabin and it was beautiful. Clean and well stocked to make us comfortable. They came by every day and asked if we needed anything. Wood or ice. It was just the most peaceful atmosphere.

The owners Jenny & Matt are so kind! Our daughter & her family are full time RVers. They were in a horrible wreck that totalled their truck, their only mode of transportation. We live almost 3 hours from the campground. Jenny made our reservation for a cabin at a discount & took our son-in-law to the store. The shower is very small, but the cabin is great, and it is a beautiful campground! Thank

The cabin was the cleanest we had ever seen at a Campground. Kat and Jenni were truly over the top amazing. The grounds were beautiful as was the pool. The bathhouse was so clean and the fenced in giant dog park was so on point. Would highly recommend staying at this KOA and looking to forward to coming back. Thank you so much.

A wonderful place to relax. My family and I really enjoyed the location, the river, and cabin. The cabin and campground were clean and the staff/owners were really helpful and friendly.

Great Hosts! Nice, clean, small campground. We had a reunion of nine friends from four different states. The staff was very accommodating. We used one of the cabins, which was very adequate. We have stayed in three different KOA cabins. This cabin was the nicest of the group. Thanks Everyone!

We have been coming here for a few years. Matt the owner truly cares about his campground and it's evident in the amenities and the changes he makes from one visit to the next. Well the setting and ambiance are breathtaking and I can truly come here to relax and decompress.

One of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. We had a spot right on the river which was absolutely gorgeous. Matt & Jenni were wonderful hosts and super friendly. Matt was constantly working picking up garbage, delivering propane tanks and firewood and taking care of the grounds. Campground is well taken care of; clean and beautiful. One of the best things about this campground to us was that their doggie area was over an acre of land. Most campgrounds either have a tiny little run or nothing at all. This was a huge fenced in piece of land where our dogs could run off leash and play. We stayed there during Thanksgiving. Matt & Jenni hosted Thanksgiving dinner for all the campers staying there during the holiday. They provided the turkeys, stuffing, gravy, sweet tea and paper products. Everyone who attended brought a dish to share. I made sweet potato casserole. It was such a wonderful time and everything was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Great folks running the place. Patience, seemed to be their awesomeness! Pretty nice to great campsites. Nice set ups for power, water and cable. Looking forward to a trip back there.
