They were very helpful and super friendly, even though we got there much later than we anticipated. Everything was very clean, as well! The bonus bundle of free fire wood was also a nice unexpected little bonus. We would definitely recommend this campground.

Booked a week because KOAs near Gatlinburg / Dollywood were booked for the week. I question this KOA. As prior reviews, it is more of a trailer park with extra spots for over nighters. Seems to be a local hangout or a place to rent the pool for the day for parties. Not the greatest of areas and freeway noise. Ok for the night or two, but not much nearby, and pool seems to get full with locals

Great KOA Journey site plenty of mature trees and shade well-kept pride of ownership shows through in the way the staff treats people and in the condition of the sites.

Great place, like almost all KOAs! I do have a small beef and it probably lies with the website more than the Newport/I-40/ Smoky Mts KOA. I was charged for 3 adults and we had two adults and a child. We found this out at the next KOA we stayed at. I filled out the reservations and know I put in 2 adults and a child for each of the three KOA's we stayed at.

Continually watched people not clean up after their pet. A big pile right by our fire ring. Of course dad stepped in it first thing. Picnic table small. Lot size small for the pricw. Shiwers wwre ok

Phenomenal staff. A bit under-supplied as far as amenities go but understand there's a change in ownership hampering investments right now.

This is a great short stop Journey. We had a good, level spot with full hook ups...including Cable TV! Everything you need is there...pool, store, propane, wood, etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. Campground was kept clean and well-maintained. It is obvious that the owners and staff are working to improve each day.

This is the 3rd or 4th time we have stayed there as a first night starting point for longer trips. It is a clean campground, has nice staff and facilities and is easy on and off from I-40.

Very nice campground. Slightly uneven spaces, but workable. Excellent owners and laundry room.

First site was not level. 2nd site much better. Entrance is overgrown and very narrow for class A, 40 or 45 ft and possible 36'. We are 40 ft towing. Branches from trees scraped our roof and antenna. Felt relieved we were only staying overnight.

It was a short, one-night stay but it was our second one-night stay here. It is wooded, shaded and well-maintained. It is not fancy but we liked it!

One night stay, only in route to final destination. The only complaint I have and it is with all KOAs is the sites are entirely too small and often the pad requires some modification in order to level my trailer.

We were tent camping. We weren't thrilled with tent site, as it was gravel. Fortunately, there was a level grassy spot up by the pool that we used instead. Everything else about the place was nice, except for the vehicle noise from the freeway.

The customer service was 110% here. They went above and beyond what a normal campground place goes. Everything was clean. Would definitely go back!

Camp site was tight, and transition point from trailer to tow vehicle had a substantial slope. Tree branches too low, rubbing on trailer roof. Staff was very friendly.

Campground facilities were the cleanest of any KOA we have stayed at. Staff was extremely helpful and kind from the time of making reservations through our stay. The highway noise was as expected.

There was plenty of room for my dog to play and walk. Site were nice and level. Lots of shade. Very friendly staff.

Well situated to travel to local locations. We traveled to Asheville/Biltmore; Cherokee Reservation; Great Smokey Mountain Park; Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge; Knoxville. Right next to I-40, literally! We slept well despite all the truckers noises. The camp spot was not the cleanest. Our picnic table, hadn't been cleaned in a long time; our fire ring had trash in it. Office staff never wore a mask.

Super nice staff. The campground is small but very easy to navigate with a 33 foot motorhome towing a small car. Bought propane there for a good price too. All in all one of the better KOAs that I have visited recently.

This RV park is in a beautiful setting…wooded and scenic. I would rate it higher except the amenities are fairly minimal and the facilities are older. The sites are good but sewer stations, etc. are old and seem to be in need of maintenance. Love the setting and all of the trees. It is very close to I-40 so if traffic noise bothers you, you may not be happy.

Stayed there for a couple days. It was nice enough. There was no wifi at all and was told there hasn't been any for months. Basically false advertising at this point if it's been months without it. People are nice and they seem to be trying to renovate the park or something. Otherwise it's pretty quiet other than the high way, but that can be easily ignored if that doesn't bother you. Oh and those cabins are very cute. Didn't stay in one, but they look nice from the outside, especially with the Christmas lights. The lights should stay up all year, would be cute.
