Surrounded by Southern Utah’s famous red rock landscapes, the St. George and Hurricane area is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Spend the day boating, paddleboarding, or fishing in the warm waters of nearby Quail Creek and Sand Hollow State Parks. If you prefer staying on land, you’ll find world-class hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and ATV trails just minutes from the campground, along with championship golf courses and the unforgettable canyons of Zion National Park.
Located right in our backyard just behind the campground, Quail Creek State Park is a desert oasis offering some of the warmest waters in Utah. Whether you want to spend the afternoon paddleboarding, kayaking across the turquoise reservoir, or casting a line for rainbow trout and largemouth bass, adventure is just minutes away. Pack a picnic, relax on the red-sand beaches, or rent watercraft locally to make a full day of fun on the water before heading back to relax by your campfire.
Experience one of the area's most popular outdoor destinations at Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane. Campers can spend the day boating, jet skiing, cliff jumping, or relaxing on the red sand beaches of the 1,322-acre reservoir, or take ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes out across 15,000 acres of sculpted red sand dunes and technical off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails.
Just three minutes from St. George / Hurricane KOA Journey, Quail Creek State Park boasts some of the warmest waters in the state and a mild year-round climate. The 600-acre reservoir is a favorite spot for boating, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, swimming, and fishing for rainbow trout, largemouth bass, crappie, and bluegill. The park includes a boat ramp, day-use picnic areas, and scenic shoreline views surrounded by red rock cliffs.
Located right across from the campground within the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, Red Cliffs Recreation Area gives guests immediate access to over 130 miles of non-motorized trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Explore scenic red rock canyons, seasonal desert streams, slot canyons, ancestral dinosaur tracks, and historic movie sites just steps from your campsite.
That doesn't mean this area has to always be empty. When you start reviewing camping options, your history will display here to help compare sites and find the best stay. You will be able to share your stay information with friends or family and save it for a later time if you have a KOA Account.
