The KOA in Townsend, TN, is one of my favorite campgrounds on the Quiet Side of the Smokies. Our campsite overlooked the river; what a lovely setting to ring in the new year. We will be back in the spring.

We stay every year around 10-14 days at the Townsend KOA and this year was the same great experience as always. The staff are great and the place is clean.

One of the best KOAs! The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Just watch out for Jack as he is quite the jokester. The dog park was away from the sites for the early morning barks that my dogs are guilty of in which was good and could use some obstacles or something. The private showers were really nice and clean! The RV sites were nicely private and the natural scenery was awesome.

Quick last minute decision to spend the NYE weekend camping and GSM KOA happened to have a spot open right on the river!! Yea!! Great/helpful employees and super restroom/laundry facilities. A+++

After camping 3 nights each at 74 KOAs, Townsend is our new favorite, special enough to make reservations for our two children's families when all 12 of us return this coming summer so we can enjoy the water. The staff are exceptionally friendly/supportive, adequately separation between campers, the park is very well policed, nice dog park, great restaurants, and hiking trails nearby.

We had a nice patio site for our 35’ MoHo. There are great amenities for families, with varied playground structures and the creek to entertain kids. Fenced mulched dog park. Enjoyed the birdsongs in the mornings. Sites a little close, and the exit lane is a tight turn, but other than that a great place to stay. Will definitely be back.

Nice campground-clean,convenient, playground, friendly, helpful, quiet during quiet hours, and no annoying golf carts. Sites are just too close and our site was particularly tight with a tree and a large rock and a ditch across from us. Took an employee and another guest numerous tries to get us parked. Our stay was perfect! Staff was helpful and friendly. Grounds were kept clean and the views and amenities were amazing. Playground could use some lights for late afternoon play.

By far one of the best KOA locations we’ve stayed at country wide! Friendly and abundantly helpful staff. Sites are well taken care of and the facilities are top notch. Me and my family will definitely be returning!

Townsend KOA is one of the best KOAs I have ever been too. The entire staff was welcoming, outgoing and eager to assist. They put an enormous effort into keeping the park clean; and it shows. Great job you guys and thank you.

Stay was great. Staff was always present and facilities were always clean. Campground was well kept and they even credited us our last day without having to ask, when we left early unexpectedly.

It was everything we had hoped it would be AND MORE!!! This was our first ever camping trip with our new camper! The staff was immensely helpful getting us backed in to a tight spot (due to a couple trees). The sites were nice and roomy with beautiful views! We will DEFINITELY be back!

One of the best and well managed campsites I have ever visited. Beautiful property, helpful staff and the bathhouses were extremely clean and well kept. Can’t record enough. Only comment would be the firewood was expensive, which I guess is because of the convenience, but the wood was not well seasoned and burned very poorly.

Had a great time! Our granddaughter especially enjoyed the playground and learning to skip rocks in the creek. The campground is well kept, and the staff is very friendly. A beautiful setting just outside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! Will definitely go again!

This was our “maiden voyage “ with our travel trailer. What a wonderful campground! We were so impressed with everything! The service, the Beaty, the cleanliness and especially how helpful everyone was. Planning our next trip already!

The campground ground was clean and well maintained. The shower house was roomy with available washers and dryers. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The text communication was a great touch, sending check in information with the ability to text back if we needed anything. Being able to text for firewood or ice and have it delivered was a nice touch. Would love a River site next visit.

Nice clean level sites with concrete patio pads along the River was a real treat, I hope I can return in the summer time to wade in the clear cold river.

We have been staying here for years and each visit is better than the last. The cabin was clean and well appointed. The location on the river was perfect. We will be back!

Their photos definitely need to be updated! We were so surprised at how nice the cabin was, we were sortof expecting just a plain ole cabin with basics and basically ended up in a super nice rustic hotel room. I wish I had taken my own pictures, it was bright and clean and comfy. The location allowed us a gorgeous drive to Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. We were also very close to Cades Cove which was also beautiful. Very happy with our stay overall
