The staff was friendly, and the campground in general was clean and well kept. We stayed on a tent site- which was very nice, also level for the tent. Only complaint- The light for the next sites hook up was very bright in our tent. So we unscrewed it in order to sleep. One suggestion- laundry detergent dispenser and coin machine in the laundry facility. Thank you for a wonder stay!

Was so happy we booked another night! So thrilled with our first trip to the Great Smokies that we wanted to see more. Campground in Townsend was a true gem to find. We had a tent site right on the river, so soothing and relaxing. Staff was super, clean clean facilities all around. We will be back & recommend to our friends!

This was our familys first time tent camping and we enjoyed everything about this site. Great facilities, campsite, staff, amentities, and views. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice, clean vacation that has a small town/remote location feel to it.

Very well kept, showers and bathrooms were clean! The cleanest campground bathrooms I’ve ever been in. My only complaint was the noise, even after 10pm which was stated as quiet time that was “strictly enforced”. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Very clean campground. Staff is friendly. My grandkids love the play area and all the activities. Of course the area is to die for. Love the peaceful side of the Smokies!

The bathrooms by the tenting area were not cleaned very often and the toilet paper and towels were not restocked . The shower building was way cleaner .

They charged us for firewood we never got and said they were going to refund but haven't. I guess $17 means nothing to them but it's my money and I sat and waited in 40 degree weather for firewood that never came and yet they still charged me anyway. How am I supposed to prove that they never showed up . My husband did ask twice for them to bring it!!!! Waiting on Refund

This is a nice campground with clean bathrooms. Site was big and didn't feel on top of your neighbor. The only issue we had was the advertising of their worship service. We both were given flyers as well as a text. We are Catholics and particular about where we receive mass, we felt it was a little pushy the flyers and the text.

First family camping trip and was such a successful we booked our next trip already for next month. Staff is so awesome energetic and their passion shows through their heart for customer service!

Campground was very nice. Lots of trees, spacious primitive tent site, bathrooms close by, very friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again!

In my 60 years of visiting Townsend, this was my first stay in your KOA. What a pleasant, relaxing, energizing experience. Camped by the Little River for 4 nights. The sound of the River lulled me into sweet slumber every night. Met some wonderful fellow campers. Came home to Orlando with renewed strength and energy. Thank you. Hope to return soon as health and life permits.

Staff was wonderful (including office, store and golf cart team). Facilities were clean and well kept. Camp site was perfect and neighbors so nice. (Albeit, a little pricey, so I could only afford one night - wish you offered a senior discount). I will return in the near future. Thank You for your hospitality!

Love this KOA. Think it was my 3ed time staying here and definitely will be back. Super friendly staff and very helpful. Very good place to camp if u are riding tail of the dragon. Hop on the foot hills parkway 7 miles away and it takes u right to the dragon. Very The scenic route.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the KOA. We were a little confused checking in. We were tent campers and got a text saying we would be escorted to our site. That’s not the case for tent campers. You’re on your own. We were assigned a tiny riverfront site that our tent would not fit in. They did accommodate us and move us to another tent site. The size of first doesn’t meet website descr

Arrived after check in but real easy to find. When we showed up they had a map on bulletin board clear easy directions with out names. Bathrooms and surrounding areas were clean and easy to find. The next morning everyone was polite and smiling. I would definitely recommend and will be going back again.

Employees were very friendly and welcoming the moment we arrived . Very helpful with bringing us ice and wood . Bathrooms were always clean which is a big thing for our family when it comes to camp grounds . Townsend KOA is our little secret spot for family vacations and they never disappoint .

Only reason I couldn't give 5 stars, is one night the building with showers had ZERO HOT WATER. Not acceptable considering it's the only bathhouse with showers.

We had so much fun biking around the campground and to local restaurants, swimming and really enjoyed watching the movie Saturday night. The bathrooms were all clean and the campsites were wonderful. I personally did encounter a bear when going to the bathroom in the middle of the night, but it moved on and didn't bother me. It was definitely exciting! We will be back!

Stay was great and campsite was beautiful. Just wish they would be more strict about people leaving food and garbage out. Got woken up at 3am by bears in camp. Campsite next to me left chicken, shrimp, and a salad out. They should be doing checks to make sure people are doing stuff right. Someone could end up hurt and resulting in 1 less bear in the world.

Arrived to find our designated campsite clean and welcoming. The staff very friendly like family. We had stayed here many times but was years ago. Returning we found so many upgrades that we felt we were staying in luxury. There are many campgrounds in the famous Townsend area but if you want to stay in a clean, safe and upscale campground stay here. On river and near entrance to Cades Cove.

Absolutely without a doubt my favorite place to camp. I tent camp. The sites are always extremely clean when we arrive. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The setting is postcard perfection. Whether you want to play in the mountains or stay at your campsite, you'll be extremely pleased with your choice to stay here.

We have been staying here for years and each visit is better than the last. The cabin was clean and well appointed. The location on the river was perfect. We will be back!

Their photos definitely need to be updated! We were so surprised at how nice the cabin was, we were sortof expecting just a plain ole cabin with basics and basically ended up in a super nice rustic hotel room. I wish I had taken my own pictures, it was bright and clean and comfy. The location allowed us a gorgeous drive to Gatlinburg and pigeon forge. We were also very close to Cades Cove which was also beautiful. Very happy with our stay overall
