The tree roots directly in front of the cabin door caused us both to trip several times. The thorny shrubs are overgrown and not kind to bare legs. (Who plants a thorn Bush in a kid friendly environment?) the mini fridge was 1/2 the size expected. An outlet between beds would have been a lot better than behind the door. I do appreciate the refund for early departure.

I knew to expect cabin camping, but... my complaints are the lack of attention to those things complained of. You staff is wonderful, but definitely overworked. The TV in SL1 main area didn't work, we complained & got no attention. The shower was clogged & we fixed it ourselves as we received no response. Power went out. Neighbors complained of bees in their cabin & no response. Disappointing.

Cabin and facilities were wonderful except for the mattress and box spring in our cabin, which was clean but the springs were worn out and bed sagged in the middle with poor support for our backs. The water from the tap had a strange scent and taste. Enjoyed everything else, and loved finding Herkimer diamonds.

We had the most fabulous time! Top 5 of ALL of our vacations ever! We plan on returning next year for a week long stay :) Thank you, thank you, thank you! Lodge was immaculate and EVERY staff member went above and beyond. We greatly appreciate the service.

When we arrived there was a mix up on dates. I never received a confirmation & didn’t think of it because I was planning several days of lodging. I later found out that the email on file was wrong. The manager on duty was able to find us lodging on site for the night. Our only complaint is that we were not staying longer. Thank you to the staff for being so accommodating.

Great place to bring young children. Very clean facilities. We stayed in K7. OK except the floor seemed swept but not mopped. Ants. On another issue. All was great until our last night when a huge group of people showed up renting most of the cabins surrounding me. Screaming kids. Loud. Music till past midnight. No one around to enforce quiet time. I asked them to quiet down. No luck.

I’m usually more of a wilderness camper, and didn’t have a high expectation, but it was great! Really clean! Lots of friendly staff. My 7-yr old grandson had a blast! We all did

We have had our family reunion at the Herkimer K away for approximately 15 years it’s a wonderfully friendly accommodating place for us to enjoy being together

I have to say I was very disappointed in the lack of communication about the water…coming in as a new camper we look at the river and see people going down it doesn’t raise a flag with us we went on it and my daughter and I got hurt we were very lucky the sign they put up was very small at check in they should had said something also advertise a/c and heat in our cabin plus dirty mattress

We have been coming here since 2007 and are always pleased. This time however our site had no water spigot that I could see. I would have planned accordingly had I known.

Our stay was wonderful as usual but the booking program Herkimer is horrible .We might not be able to do our yearly camping family outing due to you reservation policy's of not being able to pre-book for the following year .I sure wish you would change it like every camp ground but yours has ..

Staff was all amazing. They seemed spread thin however. We stayed in the tree house...the sink is way too small for washing dishes I ended up washing them in the bathtub

the cabin smelled like sewage and the shower backed up the first night i called and no answer next morning still no answer and no one got any sleep because of the smell

The place was great my kids and I had a blast and will definitely be returning! Customer service went above and beyond in every aspect. 5 stars to Employees Josh and Tom! You guys were great! The only reason I couldn’t give you guys a 10 out of 10 was the shower water pressure is not good

Clean campsites, clean bathrooms, friendly staff. We had our group of 18 in three deluxe tent sites, plus two cabins. The only suggestion would be to update the online reservation system so we can book a year in advance online (we called the desk and already reserved for next year).

The cabin was very clean with everything we needed. However, we rented the astrology lodge and could not get the telescope to work. I wish a worker would’ve have come to show us at nighttime the first night so we could enjoy it. I also wish there was some warning about river conditions as my husband broke his toe and we had to check out early.

Nobody there told us the west canada creek was dangerous for tubing. they didn’t tell us the creek had been closed to tubers in the area and surrounding campgrounds. there is no clear conspicuous sign telling tubers where to exit from the creek. we almost drown. not a hyperbole. we are excellent swimmers but the current and missing the exit almost led us to drown. people tubed all day every day.

We were the first to be in the diggers den & maybe there wasn’t time to take care of a few things. The curtains had not been ironed and were very wrinkly. The front burner on our stove was not functioning and there was a sign to attest to that. There were many other small inconveniences but none that affected our ability to remain there.

Stayed in one of the small cabins as a convenient place to be for a two-day stint at the mines. Was a great choice, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to do the same.

We stayed at the tree house. We had some problems with the TV (fixed within the hour) and the tub (never fixed), but it was quite comfy overall. Still, I’m not sure $235/night is worth it. Also, as an aside, the KOA restaurant across the road was quite bad. The service was chilly at best, and the food was terrible — and it’s not cheap. Drive the 6 miles into town for dinner.

We had a good time tubing and staying at the cabin. The food was delicious at the restaurant!!! Because we love Steve and Joanne’s food!. We have told many people how great our trip was!

My son, grandkids, and I stayed only one night in the fisherman’s lodge but it was wonderful! The cabin was so clean and it was really close to the river. We had a great time! It was my first time there, but my son had been to a different cabin a couple of times before. My only regret is that we didn’t book this cabin ahead of time for a longer stay.

We stayed in a rustic cabin, it was very clean. Only wished the bathroom was a little bit closer since we stayed in cabin K-19. Regarding bathrooms it would be nice to have a screen door on main door to keep bugs out. Otherwise they were clean.

The glamping cabins were perfect for our family of four. The views are gorgeous and overall we were super happy with our stay.

I love this place and definitely coming back within the near future, breaking rocks open is very satisfying and you possibly can get a nice reward like quarts or herkimer diamond and many more, one reccomend thought wear long sleeves long pants or shirts so bits of rock dosent hurt at all also reccomend gloves they help with also the rocks fly at you and they lower the chances of you getting a blister, in all do I recommend this place, very much so (PS:bring equipment such as mallets and plastic protection glass also like a small zip lock if you fine something you like)
