I was surprised how nice of a facility it was! We were planning a one night stop heading to the hills but would have booked two if we knew how nice and accommodating everyone was. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5star was is the golf course needs some work! Jerry was awesome I love his attitude!!!

We have stayed here numerous times and have always enjoyed our stay. It is a well run campground with friendly and accommodating staff.

Manager that checked us in, very rude as with gentlemen that took us to campsite. Not knowing that this campsite is anti-pit bull was a surprise. Other “aggressive” breads allowed though which just angered us. Will not return.

Staff was rude won’t ever go back to this KOA

You were blocking the driveway, for the rest of the campers trying to check in. Proper etiquette is register, park and then go to the store, you were the rude one expecting the rest of the campers to wait in the drive, for you to look around the store. The walk back to the store would help you.

Great park right off the interstate. But you can’t hear the interstate which is nice. Friendly staff. Pool and bathrooms were very clean. Would definitely stay again if traveling I-90.

A very well kept campground. All facilities were extremely clean each time I used them. The campground manager was very nice and did an excellent job of explaining the rules.

We were overnight guests in Mitchell. We appreciated the quiet campground, areas for walking our dog and the strength of the WiFi.

We really liked this KOA! An older campground with lots of mature trees and therefore lots of shade - a welcomed oasis in record-setting temperatures. The campground was smaller than some and felt more comfortable than many - not all those rows of RVs one on top of another. I’d plan out our next trip to make sure we stop here.

This is a well thought out KOA. The sites are easy in/out pull throughs. NO highway noise. Just enough trees for some summer shade. Pool, bathhouse, laundry are all spotless. Loved the design and location of the dog park. Several storm shelters that we thankfully didnt have to use. Friendly staff and fast check-in. Will definitely recommend to others and stay here again when passing thru.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The sites are clean as well as a great enclosed area for dogs that is shaded. They have also mowed some walking trails back in the trees to take your dog walking. We're all enjoyed our stay.

Jim & Jerry are great hosts. The bathrooms (showers, etc.) are awesome, and they even direct you to your RV site when you arrive! Very nice shaded sites as well. If you're in Mitchell, stay at the KOA!

This KOA is conveniently located north of I-90. The site was level. Hookups involved short runs. Setup was a snap. So far this KOA is the only KOA we have stayed in this trip (7 different KOAs in 10 days) that provides storm shelters for its customers; THAT is a great addition, if not a necessity, for Spring travelers in tornado country. KOAs east of the Rockies should add storm shelters!

Stayed on an overflow sight due to a full campground. Worked out fine. Been traveling 5 weeks and the restrooms were the nicest and cleanest we’ve seen.

Nice camp ground. Something needs to be done about pizza grill. Ordered at 5:45, got pizza(after several promises) at 7:30. Observed several other groups looking for food too. The poor working guy/lady need help! They had no clue what they were doing. Cooking at home is not same as a fast (�) food inviroment.

It was ok at best. No sewer hookup for our rig. Also the owner/worker was cranky and mean.

You were offered a 50 amp full hookup, but being the obvious cheap skate, you took a water electric so don't complain about no sewer. And I wasn't cranky.

The sinks and mirrors in bathroom are beautiful and the entire bathroom was very and clean. My only complaint was our picnic table was in poor shape, but a table cloth took care of that.

KOA Jim did not read preference comment on reservation & was unprofessional throughout our 5 day stay & to other campers as well. Needs PR training & training to navigaye online reservations. Sites were unlevel and too narrow for some sites to qualify as a pull thru for large rvs 3 days in a row 3 different campers had to back out of a "pull thru" site.

Fantastic, friendly and helpful staff. Ladies showers were excellent, great decor, rain shower head. Clean laundry room, clean campground. And close to attractions and restaurants. A great place to stay! Highly recommended.

Convenient location. The bathroom was spotless. The cabin we had the floor is very bouncy. I was concerned I would fall through it so I walked softly. There also is quite a slant to the floor which could be an issue to people with balance issues.

The Staff was excellent but there were some real loud vehicles coming in an out of the campground late at night and at 3 in the morning some jerk came in with a motorcycle and was revving it extremely loud. I don't know what SD policies on open carry are either but there was someone, a guest of another camper, that had a pistol on their hip and kept unholstering it and brandishing it.

Yes the loud car at 3 am woke me up also, but couldn't see the license. As far as the piston we are a constitutional carry state, he or she had the right to carry it here.

Rolled in yesterday. Got a large pull thru site. Beautiful campgrounds! Well kept, clean, leaves are changing. Several tornado shelters around camp. Met some other people here pheasant hunting too. Large wind turbine and it never stops! So yes it's always windy here. They even have a Tesla charger for electric vehicles!
