We stayed in Mitchell twice during our road trip from Indiana to Montana, and back. We stayed in KOA Campgrounds all nites on our trip but 2. The Mitchell KOA was the best of all the KOA's we stayed at. Very friendly and helpful staff. Cleanest restrooms. Stayed in a cabin on the way out and tent site on the way back. Plan on staying here in 2022 road trip.

Really enjoyed our stay even though it was a short one. The hosts seem to work hard to give their guests a great experience. The campground was very well maintained and the bathrooms were spotless. It was quiet for a KOA campground which are usually right next to the highway. I would definitely stay here again.

Pluses: Pool open, free mini-golf, flat tent sites, and the folks who run it are wonderful. Minuses: NONE. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

The owners were literally so nice! Wanted to cater to our every need, and had friendly personalities. Our campsite was flat, clean, had everything you would need. Seemed very pet friendly and had a pool! The only disappointment was that you could not hammock.

Sorry about the hammock, but I love my trees and the rope would have knocked the bark off.

Very nice grounds and facility. Oe thong you should know is this campground is very close to I 90 and there is significant traffic noise. If you are a light sleeper be prepared!

Nice campground, just really noisy (vehicle traffic). Pool was awesome and staff was friendly, even warning us of incoming severe weather and reminding us of storm shelter areas.

Great campground-close to the highway but quiet and lots of shade. Clean bathrooms, great showers, and friendly staff. There was a nice breeze all evening and a beautiful sunset. We liked everything about Mitchell KOA.

Plenty of paces to park, lots of shade trees, clean bathrooms, small pool for kids and a soak. Good overnight stay at reasonable price.

Love, love, love the painted sinks and mirrors in the bathroom!! We had great fun at the mini-golf course which was a big reason we picked this KOA, but it is in need of some repair which made for some crazy shots?!

It's being worked on this summer but it will never be a pro course, it's just for fun.

The host was helpful to this late arriving newb (I’ve only camped at a KOA maybe twice before). The tent site I chose was narrow, but fine for a one night stay. I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful bathroom…also very clean! The dishwashing area looked inviting, but I didn’t get a chance to use it. I heard some road noise from the nearby road, but that’s what earplugs are for ;)

Clean, breezy and peaceful. Spotless bathrooms! Super friendly host. I am impressed. Slept really well with a fan on.

The Staff was excellent but there were some real loud vehicles coming in an out of the campground late at night and at 3 in the morning some jerk came in with a motorcycle and was revving it extremely loud. I don't know what SD policies on open carry are either but there was someone, a guest of another camper, that had a pistol on their hip and kept unholstering it and brandishing it.

Yes the loud car at 3 am woke me up also, but couldn't see the license. As far as the piston we are a constitutional carry state, he or she had the right to carry it here.

Great KOA. Honestly one of the nicest bathrooms I've ever seen. (Not just for a campground.). The family really enjoyed a one night visit.

Rolled in yesterday. Got a large pull thru site. Beautiful campgrounds! Well kept, clean, leaves are changing. Several tornado shelters around camp. Met some other people here pheasant hunting too. Large wind turbine and it never stops! So yes it's always windy here. They even have a Tesla charger for electric vehicles!
