Great clean overnight stay.

Very little space between our camper and the next camper. Some shade but no space to put chairs and sit.Staff were friendly, but will be looking for a little bit bigger space next time we camp

CAMPGROUND RESPONSE / COMMENTS:

You need to take into consideration that this is a 60 year old campground, the largest camper when this was designed was 32 foot. slides and fifth wheels weren't even invented yet.

Great place. We always enjoy our stay here. The owners are so friendly and helpful. This is a busy park, lots to see and do in the area. Fun to see all of the campers having a good time. We love this place and stop here every year at least one time. Thank you Jim and Jerry for making Mitchell KOA one of the best in our travels. Check out the restrooms and showers - they get a 5 star review!

We had no problems. They showed us to our spot and asked if we had any questions or problems they could help with. It is a quiet place to stay even though we were only there for one night.

Loved it. Cows were surrounding the place and it was a lovely sound to wake up to. Spaces were a bit tight. Owners were fantastic.

This was a nice stopping point on our way back from Mount Rushmore. The restrooms were well maintained and the store had everything that we needed. My only gripes would be that our camp spot had more mud and dandelions than grass. However the spot was spacious and had a table and firepit so we still were able to make the most of it. Also the store closed really early.

Very nice park. We were there over Memorial Day weekend and it was a zoo of families and KIDS of all ages out for the first time since the year of wonderful COVID!! Consequently it was a zoo, but great to see America returning to normalcy and families “LIVING, PLAYING TOGETHER AGAIN.” As for the park is it superb in many ways. This is more like a KOA Holiday. We’d actually stay for a number of days & we’d recommend that to others. Very clean, very well cared for & great staff

We were disappointed in so many levels. The rude staff.. the sites were so cramped. The sewer was almost smack dab in the middle of the neighbor's "yard," next to their picnic table. We had made reservations months in advance, only to be shoved in a crappy site. So many more were available. KOA is usually a great place to go, but this one is ?????able. I'll look for a diff . camp ground next t

What a gem! Everything was clean, the staff was friendly, and the sites were all well maintained. The water pressure was also fantastic. We will definitely make this KOA our go-to stop when traveling this area!

We had one overnight stay while we were traveling from Mount Rushmore to Saint Paul Minnesota and used the KOA in Mitchell. It was a very nice place, very friendly people, amenities that would be useful if I needed them. I would definitely use their facility again.

Difficult to maneuver our 38 ft towing a car through the park due to the trees that are very close to the road and site. Way to close on corners and the line to enter and exit the camp site. Had to unhook our tow vehicle to allow backing to exit.

I think that you need to practice your driving skills with that motor home, or get a smaller one that you can handle. Jim

We appreciated the level site that allowed us to stay hooked up for the night, since we were just passing thru on way to the Black Hills. Everyone in office great!

Quiet, easy to access, VERY friendly and helpful staff. Bathrooms were clean and extra attention to details made them feel a bit more homey. We will stay again if in the area.

Very nice park, nicer than most KOA's we've stayed at. Sites are still rather close together though. I would stay again if passing through Mitchell.

Rolled in yesterday. Got a large pull thru site. Beautiful campgrounds! Well kept, clean, leaves are changing. Several tornado shelters around camp. Met some other people here pheasant hunting too. Large wind turbine and it never stops! So yes it's always windy here. They even have a Tesla charger for electric vehicles!
