Looking for the perfect way to cool off or warm up on the Texas coast? Take a dip in The Big Texan, our iconic saltwater pool and one of the largest fiberglass pools around. Relax poolside and soak in beautiful Gulf views, all without waves, tides, or marine life getting in the way.
Open daily from 8:30 AM until dusk. Our saltwater pool is heated in the winter, up to 20°F above the low, and cooled in the summer, up to 20°F below the high. The pool will be closed during storms or when temperatures are below 45°F for any 48 hour period. No diving is allowed. There is no lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk. All children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 3 must wear swim diapers.
It's the perfect place to unwind, no matter the season.
If you are looking for a new fun way to enjoy the bay, try one of our aqua cycles for a new kind of adventure! This gigantic, water-based tricycle can take two people on a unique adventure through the water. The Aqua Cycle is a great activity for adults, kids and teens. Like a real bike, they are easy to operate with pedals and steer with the handlebars.
We have several ways to cool off at our campground! The pool, the bay, and now a brand new splash pad!
When you are ready for an adventure, rent one of our kayaks or Corcls and enjoy the gulf or watch some dolphins. We currently offer single and double kayaks, so whether you want to traverse the water alone or do it with a friend, you can. Your kids can also try a Corcl, a small, rounded boat you use with an oar. It's easy to paddle and a great way to host races or lay back and lounge on the water!
Try something new with a paddleboard rental! Stand on top of a flat board and use a paddle to glide across the water, taking in the gorgeous views while getting a workout. Whether you want to float around the water or try fishing from one, there are plenty of ways to enjoy your paddleboard rental.

Our Bay is famous for fishing. You can catch Flounder using a small hook and bait shrimp. They are in very shallow water, so casting from the shore is best. Live shrimp is best.
Another favorite is redfish, best to catch in shallow waters with live mullet. The live bait will do all the work for you on a number 3 hook.
Horseshoes is an excellent game to play with family and friends. Each player should stand on opposite sides, toss their horseshoes to the other pit, and count points based on how close they are to the stake. If you would prefer, you can have fun throwing them back and forth — no scorekeeping needed.
