River City Cluster of Dog Shows Returns to San Antonio

Dog lovers, competitors, and spectators alike are invited to the River City Cluster of Dog Shows, returning to Freeman Coliseum July 10–12, 2026.

This premier all-breed event brings together more than 1,000 dogs representing over 200 American Kennel Club recognized breeds from across the United States and beyond. Guests can watch breed competitions, junior showmanship events, specialty shows, and the exciting Best in Show competition.

This special guided river cruise takes you through the heart of downtown San Antonio while highlighting the art, symbolism, and stories behind the alebrijes, calaveras, and ofrendas displayed along the River Walk.

Along the route, you'll uncover the cultural significance of the vibrant installations while enjoying a refreshing beverage included with your ticket.

 The Largest Catrina in the Country is in the Alamo City

One of the largest catrinas in the country is at Maverick Plaza in La Villita Historic Arts Village. Standing a breathtaking 38.5 feet tall at La Villita Historic Arts Village, this spectacular sculpture is a vibrant tribute to the spirit of Día de los Muertos. With her colorful attire, glowing butterfly, and flower-festooned hat, she's a sight you can't miss! Created by the talented Mexican artists Jesus and Amauri Sanabria, this towering Catrina now holds the record for being the second largest "Calavera Catrina" in the world—following Puerto Vallarta's 74-foot record holder!PLUS: This year, Catrina is joined by a dashing companion. This year's theme is Merry Movie Magic, so be ready to see floats dedicated to the holiday season's most iconic films.Join us for our annual spectacle featuring 27 beautifully illuminated floats, 5 entertainment floats, and 200,000 holiday lights that brighten the River Walk from sundown to sunrise through early January.Held the day after Thanksgiving, the parade and river lighting ceremony begin on Friday, November 27, 2026, at 6 PM at the Tobin Center, with a live broadcast at 7:05 PM from the Arneson River Theatre.
