Pretty dissatisfied with last weekend. We’ve come to this KOA for years and stayed throughout the year sometimes 2-3 times. Upon showing up for the Halloween weekend, we wanted to make a reservation for next year and were told that they were already booked. We received no communication that bookings would open in June. Your new management sucks! We won’t be returning ever.

I have never filled out one of these surveys. KOA has everyone's' email yet the reservation change police was not communicated to anyone in advance It is the cooperate option to operate the organization in any manner. I believe a change policy for the advance reservation process could of been implemented satisfactorily with proper notification with an advance change date and a sunset policy

Over priced for tight sites. Sites are, mud, sand, dirt, Loud music, loud voices, drinking, way beyond 12 am from other campers. Unaware of the new reservation policy no one informed us that you need to book way in advance usually when you stay you can book for the following year. Went to do that was already sold out for Halloween 2022.

The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting!! We had a cabin that did not have a bathroom and in the past we haven’t had an issue. They were out of toilet paper almost the entire stay! The floors were covered with paper and trash. Then eventually 2nd night in they were vandalized and not cleaned up for another good portion. It was very disappointing.

This year's Halloween festivities were calmer and quieter than the past few years. Thank you to management for stopping so many extra visitors from entering the park for free. The staff is not as visible as they were in years past. Garbage sits, bathrooms are not tended too as often. It was also a bummer having the contests and prizes eliminated for the holiday weekend.

Extremely disappointed! Family/Friends group have been going to the KOA for 6 yrs. now for Halloween fun! This year, new owners-we felt it. Less activities, what they did offer was poor-how do you tiedye t-shirts without the t-shirts?No t-shirts available! AND-no loyalty to all of us regulars that go every year and book for the next year when we leave, they opened it up in July so we all lost out!

I would have left and even higher response but they needed to clean the bathrooms more often. It was a sold out Halloween weekend so the bathrooms had heavy use. Toilet paper ran out for more than 12 hours. The floors and sinks were disgusting and felt unsanitary. Other than that it was excellent.

It was sad to know there is new management. This is our 6th year of going at least 3 times a year. Every year we get to hold our spot for next and did not find out until arrival we could not. We lost our spot after 6 years straight. The new staff is unfriendly and honestly done right rude. You will lose a lot of campers!! You have lost us !!!!!

I heard there is new management. I would have to say that the old management was a lot more friendly. One of the workers who greeted me when I checked in was cold and rude. I have been coming here for different seasons (not just the October Halloweeen bash) and I have always felt welcomed. The price you charge compared to State campgrounds, your workers should be very nice and courteous.

The worst experience yet in five years I’ve been coming. Terrible customer service!!! Rude rude rude!! The staff should be ashamed!! Plus, new rules were implemented about booking our same rooms for next year which is what we have been used to and with no warning they changed it so we no longer have our tradition for Halloween after 5 years of coming. New management needs to communicate better you have people that have been coming here for years and not causing any problems for you not to send out a email that booking has changed! the answer that we got was we don't have your number or email and it was against company policy the way it was being run we get emails and text from KOA all the time so you have our numbers

We have been going to this KOA on Halloween for 10+ years.Now that new management took over this year everything has changed the staff has all changed and is less engaging with kids and people less activities.We looked forward to the costume contest ever year.This year there was just a parade.We also notice the facility cleanliness were not as kept up as before.This will unfortunately be it for us

I would not recommend the airstreams nor will I be renting those again. They are really lacking maintenance and stink. Ours smelled horrible the whole trip unless all windows were open which you can’t of course do at bight because it’s too cold. Ours also do not have a mirror which made getting ready impossible. We have been staying in those airstreams for years now and this year was bad. A03

Pretty place. Lots of fun things to do in the campground and around the area. Very expensive! Some employees very helpful and accommodating, others not so much! Don’t appreciate the new ownership changing the reservation system which essentially is ruining the super fun Halloween festivities that have been happening for many years. We won’t be back. Halloween camping is my favorite weekend of the year! Staff is always friendly and the campground is kept up well. Fun activities for the kids. We will be back again next year!

Everything was clean the spaces where nice and wide. All the workers were awesome and very helpful. 1 gal told us where to eat and dam was it delicious. Great way for me and my wife to spend our 1st anniversary together

We stayed in one of the RV sites along the nature preserve and really appreciated the landscape and trees separating the sites. The mature trees throughout the complex help provide many unique spaces and lots of shade. We love the place so much we reserved RV sites and lodges for a future family vacation. There are plenty of friendly staff to assist you & answer questions & keep the grounds clean.

Campers were very angry about the changes in the reservations for next year. Many will NOT be returning. It is clear that the new management is only interested in collecting as much $ as they can as fast as they can. Screw the families.

We have been coming to Santa Cruz/Monterey Bay KOA for 10+ years. Always a great experience. Lots for the kids to do and a friendly staff. Keep up the good work!

The mattresses in the airstreams are horrible. There was no hot water either and by the time we noticed it was too late to do anything about it. I also witnessed an employee speaking to a fellow camper in a not so nice tone. He was an older man driving around the campsites on Saturday a evening. Also heard many regulars complaining about the new management. I don’t think we’ll be back.

It was very strict this year. The mgmt seemed super intense. We used to be able to book our stay for the next year before we left but that is no longer allowed. This results in so many people losing their spots they have had for 10+ years. Plus super strict rules about towing all cars that don't have a parking pass and claiming that the park is at capacity when many spots go unfilled.

We had a wonderful stay in a deluxe cabin. The campground was quiet and not crowded as it is off-season. Plenty of fun things to do without ever leaving the campground. Hope to be a regular visitor!

We were so happy with the new management! They are working to allow new families to come during holiday weekends. For years it has been the same groups over and over and new visitors were never able to come... now we can! They are also cracking down on rude and dangerous guests who break KOA rules. This is such a great KOA. Can't wait to visit again.

Stay overall was good. I am disappointed that not as many Halloween festivities as the years past. I also am disappointed that families we have camped with for MANY years lost there camping sites for next year.

We have been coming for years to Halloween and we lost our spot to come back next year. We spend a lot of money on candy and decorations. Sorry but left a bad taste and don’t plan on coming back in the near future.

We have been coming for a number of years for the Halloween weekends. The new ownership took over and realized the KOA policies for the “Halloween” weekend weren’t actual policy. I understand completely, my only issue is that an informational email should have been sent out to all. We are now out of a tradition that has been going in for years. Well kept and run facility overall though.

We been coming there for 8 years and never had trouble with our site. For the price that we pay our cable didn't work and the sewer in the ground was full. So we had to move to dump. Also management has changed the reservation system which has ruined our group event.

This KOA has been one of the best KOA campgrounds around until the new management arrived and changed everything. We've been members for over 15 years and this past weekend, we were told that our specific spots (4 RV spots together) that we've had for over 6 years were already taken for next year. We were never given warning of our spots being opened up. Not alot of happy campers here:(

Silly an old manager was extremely rude. There were several mistakes with reservations and he had no ability to adapt and over come. No flexibility and definitely no customer service. We had been coming for 7 years and realize there was change of management but communication would have helped. We will tell all Our friends to not go back

We have been coming to the Halloween event for years. We are very dissatisfied as to how new ownership screwed many families out of their historic spots. I talked to many others in the same situation. We are loosing a fair amount of our “normal” yearly campers. So much so that we are contemplating moving our yearly patronage to a different venue.

Sites are good sized, clean and tons of activities for the kids. Good customer service, no problems checking in and out. Full hookups. Quiet during the week, but turns into a zoo on the weekends ;) not a lot of space to maneuver a large fifth wheel, but manageable. They do enforce quiet times which is great, but could do without the 9:45pm text reminder when I'm already asleep. Close to ocean.

The overall stay was fun. There were several activities to participate in. For the most part, staff was friendly. At check in there was not water to the facility and at check out, the power and water had been cut off prior to 11:00 am. For those traveling far, use of restroom facility was gross and very unsanitary. Staff at check out was rude. During check out the counter was hostile and unsafe.

We literally had the worst customer service experience EVER…it was shocking to say the least! The general manager, Fred was extremely argumentative, unprofessional, raising his voice (in front our children), and threatening at the front gate within seconds of arriving. Fred is the problem…lacks professionalism, customer service, & empathy. Very sad that my children had to witness this.

We love this place. I've spent time at many Koa over the years and they are all clean, fun for the kids and so close to Monterey pier and Santa cruz boardwalk. Over the years I've stayed here 5 or 6 times. The only drawback is the price it is very spendy. We pay half the fee at the booking and we save for the rest. Never had any problems with the camp sites or the management I have given it 4 stars, not 5 stars because of the price of the lodging. My favorite Koa is Manchester Beach.
