Overall very nice stay, lots of activities for kids to do although they were not all open every day. Very clean & well kept campground. Very cute & clean cabin with a couple issues. Sporadic hot water, only sometimes worked. Heater was also sporadic. Overall it kept it warm enough but in mornings when it was chilly the heater was blowing only cool air & was noisy like it was sucking up sand.

Good stay, but something needs to be done about about the entrance into the campground. The massive pot holes are a joke, and not good for vehicles and especially RV’s. For what you charge a night, it should be a smooth ride in. Also I think more speed limit signs need to be posted within the campground.

We loved it! Our 9 and 10 year old grandkids had so much fun on the playgrounds and jump pillow! Our campsite was clean and spacious with a great view. Only problem was, we had to stay two hours past checkout time due to our truck needing repairs that weren’t completed in time. We were charged $30. Nobody was booked to come in and we thought a little compassion would have been nice.

Good location, easy access to local attractions. Definitely follow the directions on the CG website not your GPS. Surrounding roads a bit rough and the entrance road to the CG is definitely an axel breaker. Potholes at RR tracks at entrance need to be filled in.

I stayed in an air stream trailer and it was clean and exactly what I expected. I would definitely stay here again.

This was our second time at this KOA. The 1st time was outstanding. It was clean and quiet. This time was not as good. People had dogs that were not on leashes. Our main issue was a very loud group that was partying until well past midnight. Curfew and leash rules should be enforced.

Unfortunately I don’t think our spot was cleaned before we arrived. There were two separate piles of animal puke/regurgitated food in our spot. Also one pile of dog poop.

My wife and I had a great relaxing stay the help was outstanding and clean comfortable cabins thank you for making our trip as great as it was cant wait to go back

Had a great time. It’s a busy KOA with lots of families but great amenities. Pool/Spa we’re open til 8pm. Playground seemed to be a huge hit with the little ones. We reserved a mixed use spot and got a spot on the end which more than accommodated our 34’ 5th wheel and large tent.

Brochure said quiet hours (10 to 8) were strictly enforced. Called security Fri night at 10:20 to report loud music, screaming kids and more at the site next to us. Security said "quiet hours start at 11," even though we got a text saying they started at 10. Sat night was similar. Many people checked out on so Sun. night was better. We will not return on a weekend.

Stayed ten days this year which included two weekends and this year they were crazy. With three kids we appreciate a loud fun filled atmosphere. This was over the top though as there were far too many unruly kids and their similarly mannered parents. We witnessed fights, vomiting at the park, and what felt like a general lawlessness. I was forced into two separate confrontations due to no staff

Vehicles move through the campground at very unsafe speeds. Dog poop not picked up. Sites not cleaned as they should be - bottle caps, cigarette buttes, etc. not picked up. Sadly, customer service seems to be a thing of the past at this KOA. Glass, alcohol & dogs in the pool area. Glass & alcohol in the hot tub. No one around to enforce the safety rules. Not up to par for the price.

2 nights in campsite. Clean facilities but no hot water in shower by pool. Otherwise, great pace and friendly staff!

Great campgrounds we were there during the week and it was relatively quiet for the amount of families that were there. Friendly staff, especially the people running the kids/ game area. We will definitely be coming back to this KOA!

The Santa Cruz/Monterey KOA was the best KOA we’ve stayed in. Professionalism! Beautiful grounds and very well-maintained bathrooms and showers. The price is pretty expensive, but it was totally worth it. The kids events were outstanding. I can’t say enough good things about this KOA. -Nicolle from Bend, OR

It nice location and the place has good amenities. Insider tip use the Toilets near the office they are cleanest and well kept. Showers and toilets at #1 location in maintenance. Temporary showers and toilets that were put in place were nice but were out of supplies most of the time. By the second everything was overflowing with stinky water that made them unusable.

I like this property but I feel that there are too many kids flying on bikes unsupervised. There was a large group in the cabins on the main drive. There had to be 70 people in that group. They didn’t supervise their kids very well and we had two instances where 2 kids darted in front of our car. Maybe people large groups farther away from the main drives?

Great area and huge campground. The bathroom near our rustic Cabin was under renovation. Sadly, the shower required you to hold the water handle to keep water flow going. Hot water was great, but affected a lot by use in the other bathrooms, using toilet or wash basin. The last day the showers were backed up with urine waste due to lack of draining. Unusable at that point.

We love this place. I've spent time at many Koa over the years and they are all clean, fun for the kids and so close to Monterey pier and Santa cruz boardwalk. Over the years I've stayed here 5 or 6 times. The only drawback is the price it is very spendy. We pay half the fee at the booking and we save for the rest. Never had any problems with the camp sites or the management I have given it 4 stars, not 5 stars because of the price of the lodging. My favorite Koa is Manchester Beach.
