Arrived at 6:00PM in Nov. to the specific site reserved given away ,something about needed to pay some $20 "lock-in" fee which we were never told about during the phone reservation made in July. Manager assigned us another site, when we pulled our RV around to pull-in that newly assigned undesirable site, there was an RV already parked in it. Back to office, assigned undesirable site by 8:00PM.

We always have fun when we stay at Santa Cruz Monterey Bay KOA. Lots of activities for the kids. Staff very friendly and helpful.

It is a nice looking park and lots of amenities for kids. Easy to occupy the kids which is good. But... The weekends are nuts. Tons of kids and park is overflowing. The sites are very too close together. Couldn't use our firepit as it would have torched the trailor beside us and our motorhome was squished against hedges. Left scratches on our rig. Not happy at all.

We've been coming to this KOA for 12 years. This trip, things just felt off. The camp store had changed - all the fun gifts were gone. The pool/spa hours had been drastically shortened. Banana bikes/wood/etc. were more expensive. I'm not sure if we'll be back...

Great stay. Lots of fun things to do for the kids. Only complaint would be the very narrow sites we were in (36&37) we had to park one trailer over the campfire pit plus perfectly position our trailer to have the slide go our over the electrical terminal. These sites need more width to them.

Love this place. Close to the beach, close to town, and the grandkids have a great time. We have made a tradition of the family coming here at the least, once a year.

We were moved from site #1 (which had a power hookup, suggesting vans were potentially expected there) to site #31 in and amongst the huge RVs with very little privacy and lots of noise. If we were given site #1 initially with the full knowledge that we were arriving with a van, it was unclear why all of a sudden when we checked in the van was somehow a problem. Wish we had contested this.

We really want to like this KOA. The amenities are great for kids on the weekend, but mostly closed during the week. The climbing tree doesn't open till 1pm on sat. Music is blared all day from campsites (you can hear it from 10 spaces away). People stay up talking loud and playing music until 2am. Basically we have found on both our trips it is party central on weekends. Time to drink up I guess!

Since the new manager has taken over, he has changed rules and broken up a 20 year, annual camping tradition for our group of family and friends by no longer allowing us to have priority booking for our same site for the next year. All of us lost our sites and cabins and stopped our annual tradition. He's treating this as a hotel, instead of the family tradition place that it was/should be.

Very nice place to camp with your motor home. Lots of cabins to rent out. Clean place ! Great activities for children and the pool is big for everyone to enjoy.

Very nice park - offers so much for families! As a retired couple, we were glad we did not have reservations for the October 15-16 weekend after staying there Tue - Thur - it would have been a noisy zoo!! The park was very well maintained, the restrooms were very clean, and the people working in the office were all very friendly and helpful. Again - a great park for families!

This property offers young families a great playground area and pool. Nice coastal location. The facilities were kept very clean including bathrooms. Staff were pleasant. The only criticism is that while they do have WIFI, they don’t allow video streaming, and if you do try this, we read that your WiFi would be turned off for 24 hrs. The bathrooms to serve our area were under construction and no portable toilets were provided. That left 2 women’s stalls to serve an enormous area of the campground. One of them had no toilet paper and the other had a flooded floor. We were not warned about any of this when checking in. Also we were made to move our campsite after getting everything set up. But it’s near the beach.

Overall, our stay was 5 out of 5. This place is comfortable and the current staff are passionate with grounds upkeep and daily operations. Due to The Awesome pool at this place, we had no choice but to extend our stay by a few days before traveling onward. Thank you for great time!

Our most recent stay was during a Halloween wknd celebration. Very fun and well run. Thank you. It had been a while since we visited the SC/MB KOA ~ wonderful to see all of the new improvements. Always enjoy our stay at Santa Cruz KOA...we have family in the area & this KOA is in perfect proximity. The staff is always very friendly & helpful, the park is well maintained.

Long-time guests of the SC KOA. I found the upgrades to the bathrooms delightful. The communication (other than the reminders of the rules) was slow. Questions were asked 2-3 times before being answered if at all. For the price, I felt like I was nickeled and dimed.

Pretty dissatisfied with last weekend. We’ve come to this KOA for years and stayed throughout the year sometimes 2-3 times. Upon showing up for the Halloween weekend, we wanted to make a reservation for next year and were told that they were already booked. We received no communication that bookings would open in June. Your new management sucks! We won’t be returning ever.

We love this place. I've spent time at many Koa over the years and they are all clean, fun for the kids and so close to Monterey pier and Santa cruz boardwalk. Over the years I've stayed here 5 or 6 times. The only drawback is the price it is very spendy. We pay half the fee at the booking and we save for the rest. Never had any problems with the camp sites or the management I have given it 4 stars, not 5 stars because of the price of the lodging. My favorite Koa is Manchester Beach.
