One of the best ways to experience the outdoors near our campground is the Salado Creek Greenway, which runs alongside San Antonio / Alamo KOA Holiday. The growing network of paved trails provides opportunities for walking, jogging, biking and enjoying the natural scenery along the creek. Guests can bring their own bikes or rent bikes from the campground before heading out to explore.
San Antonio also offers opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, golf, nature photography and wildlife viewing. Nearby parks and natural areas provide even more ways to experience the Texas landscape, while the San Antonio River and River Walk offer opportunities to explore the city from a different perspective.
For guests traveling with children or pets, San Antonio has numerous parks, trails and outdoor spaces where the whole family can enjoy time outside. From a leisurely walk to a more adventurous day exploring the Hill Country, it's easy to add outdoor recreation to your San Antonio camping vacation.

Rent a kayak from Mission Adventure Tours and enjoy the San Antonio River Walk as it takes you through downtown. Make reservations through their website and get a kayak, paddles and life vests for a 2 hour rental fee. Bring your own kayak or canoe to launch as well.
